Update on PsiMaTEK OPS Kickstarter

Basically, I am at a standstill.  My Graphics guy just moved to Arizona and I am giving her time to recoop and get her ducks in a row before hounding her with demands for a card game she isn't getting paid to create yet.  Just waiting on those components and I will be able to print a new prototype.

Adjustments:  Increased the amount of skills in the game.  This should prevent the choke up of Mark cards in the game, as well as aid in the acquisition of certain cards.  Also, I am trying to come up with a way to refresh the Academy that will be easy to remember, and also effectively spur on the game.

After the first play: changes

After the first game playthough of psiMaTEK Ops.  I have made the following changes:
-completely revamped the marks:  there are no more on draw effects for failed marks and I have given perks to each.
Loyalty:  if this card is in your sucessful marks, you may subtact one from the target of any future marks
Psionic enhancers:  if you completed an insulated mark, you can enjoy being able to purchase and rush affinity cards with points of the same affinity as the card being purchased or rushed.
Battle hardened:  this perk allows the user to increase their "draw to" hand size by one card
Frear of the Corporation.  :  this converts one red die into a green or blue die.
Vault cards have no perks but they have been given a state where you must roll for them on the trauma step like a symptom card.
This hopefully gives the player more incentive to score on marks rather than adjudication.
-Trauma cards now give a player a trauma die as well as a trauma card in their hand when a die is rolled.
-The final trauma check adds cards to your discard pile and not your hand
-both types of die can be used simultaneously without railgun technique.  This has updated the railgun technique skill to say "all 2s on non trauma die faces are now 3s" instead of its rendered redundant effect
-die created with the affinity cards has been reduced back to 1 because of the mixed die update and the perks on the mark cards.
-many cards have been updated with various changes in attempt to make green die not suck as bad.
-Adjudication checks now subtract 1 for every die rolled, further balancing the adjudication check/mark discrepancy.
I have just finished the updates on the spread sheet and I will amend the rulebook soon as well.  Ultimately I am so excited that the game works as well as it does and I hope to get some more playtime with the new rule amendments.

Psimatek has arrived

I have finally got the physical game sent here.  I have been mulling over it, playing a few mock games and ultimately enjoying the thought of having such a high quality of prototype to work with, and ultimately to scrape up, mark up, scribble on, add homemade pieces to and lament not having enough dice to throw 30 die checks because of a happy complication or two.  I am making a list of errata to the rules and will post it here before saturday for the wonderful occurance of being able to test it!  Game night is saturday with my friend and I plan to chronical the first prototype game of PsiMaTEK Ops.

PsiMaTEK Ops. Is almost here

I have just got the comfirmation email!  The prototype game of PsiMaTEK Ops. Is being shipped and hopefully here by next saturday!  All of my work will soon be realized on this project.  A bit later I hope to have a good test play and item inspection.  I will possibly even tape the unboxing... who knows!  Anyway, super excited.

Hiccup

It is hard balancing this hobby/career.  When the same money used to pay for gas and food has to also be used to purchase prototypes, it gets sort of strained.  I missed my deadline I set for myself to have a working prototype for PsiMaTEK Ops. to be played on International Tabletop Day, on April 5th.  All of the graphics are finished though and simply waiting for that last bit of capital.  It should be ready by the end of April.  I am however, still on schedule for the PsiMaTEK Kickstarter project, which is simply to have a Kickstarter going to acquire art assets for the game as well as some power to advertise, perhaps create a few games for people.  Hiccups are something you have to hold your breath for when things are not aligned.  Rest assured, It will pass.

International Tabletop day

So, I have a new goal for my New Years resolution to have my PsiMaTEK Ops. game up on kickstarter by the end of the year.  I want a playable prototype of the game done by March for International tabletop day on April 5th.

I have finished the rulebook, (which seems to be my issue with most of these things as of late with all of my projects), as well as started to revise the short story "Interview with the hollow girl".  I plan to have a short story with all PON games.

New Year's projects

So, the last time I was on here, I may have submitted a neat little game called Landslide.  It didn't get any play in the contest, but the process of making that game was quite invigorating.  Anyway what I have in the works is simple:
-Meteor 55 needs some cards before I can make an alpha.
-A new game based on adventure game tropes is penned and ready to have graphics made.  It will probably be pretty easy to make at this point.
-PsyMaTek Ops is on hold until I learn how to draw good, or sucker some undergrad work out of MSU.  I at least need the cards created for the Alpha
-I want to add some promo cards to my other games to advertise them.
-Send a copy of Landslide to TABLETOP, a part of the Geek and Sundry Youtube network. Who knows, perhaps Wil might take pity on a poor soul like me.
-I also have a deck building/ Military strategy/ Risk Legacy scarring game penned.  Needs graphics and an Alpha.

Last year was a year of a lack of means and a lack of time, but I will soon have a better foothold on the workings of my financial realm.  I am excited to be able to bring some of these things to life.
